Why do those spideys have to keep chillin' on the ceiling of my bathroom? It's really rude, all starin' at me while I pee. I really don't enjoy it. Also, hiding in my closet after I catch him peeping, not cool. Cutting him in half with a sword definitely showed him what for.
On the flip side, I get to watch either Superman Returns or Pirates2 (mostly for the first time, again) tomorrow or Saturday. And Dallas should be calling sometime. I'm going shopping tomorrow morning really early, too, 'cause of all the shiny sales.
Oh, and Sarah-I'll probably buy Animal Crossing tomorrow.

Man, Speed from CSI: Miami rides a motorcycle, and it really makes me want to ride one again. They are so sweet. I miss it.

I need to get back on the ball with schoolwork. It's been a while since I was there. Might have something to do with being a senior. Probably has more to do with apathy.

Rampo Noir comes out on DVD on Tuesday (this Hallerween). It's four of Edogawa Ranpo's stories, and one of the actors is Narimiya Hiroki. <3OMG<3HAPPZORS. So I get to watch it this weekend. I also get to see MI:III. Whee.? I'm not nearly as excited about that one, but I'm all doki doki over Rampo Noir.

I need to make my Halloween costume, too, but first I've got to get some fabric and maybe a pattern at Joanne's.
Sarah, do you have coupons? <3 ? I'm still not getting coupons from them, and I signed up over a month ago. Sad.

Oh, when I started this I had a reason to post...
This isn't it, but the Dresden Dolls concert on Tuesday was absofuckinlutely awesome. <3
I think I'm gonna have a party on Halloween. Nothing fancy, just cookies and cupcakes of Halloweeny cuteness, lots of orange and black, carved pumpkin and some decoration, some kind of Halloweeny dinner deal, lots of popcorn, and 5/6 horror movies.
Did I mention the Halloweeny themed boozeness?
It should be excellent.

On an entirely different note, and I think this is actually what I was planning on posting about, on Saturday night I'm having 24 pony births. You heard me, I'm birthing 24 ponies.
I <3 Pony Island! Ish sho fun.

I hate the feeling you get from drinking an entire pot of coffee by yourself, like internal bleeding with nausea, combined with sleep deprevation. Why oh why did I not start one of these papers over the weekend? Oh yeah, I'm a procrastinator. I really need to work on that. Eventually.

I'm just glad I don't have class on Friday anymore.

I made mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, and peas the other day. Leftovers aplenty on the mashed potatoes side.
I made my mom's awesome cream cheese sugar cookies. Yet again, leftovers aplenty. Let me know if you want some, the cookie dough is in the fridge so I can bake them fresh any time for the next couple of weeks.
Firefly Marathon!
I'm makin' a shirt, it's cool. I need to figure out how to make button holes. My new sewing machine is a glorified bobbin winder. My old sewing machine is so antique it makes motor smells when you run it at a normal speed, but it works fine. I need to work on my pirate costume again, and then put some pictures up on DA.
I really need to study Japanese, all I've done since coming back is read Nana and go to karaoke once. (OMG There are karaoke places just like in Japan down here that even have all the songs I know like SMAP and Planetarium and the Nana songs and OMG--Okay, over).
I think that's it. I'm going to finish the shirt now. I don't know what kind of closure to do on it, anything but hook-and-eye closers will have to wait until tomorrow because I've only got three buttons that will work and no snaps. I think I want to do snaps. Yargh, dunno.
OMG I have to make costumes for DragonCon. Damn. And get body paint. And find out what body paint to get. \(-.-)/

I am vehicularized. Also, I drove my car all the way from the Japanese restaurant called Nagoya (which does not serve Nagoya food, I don't know why it's called that grrrr sadzors) to the QT to get gas and all the way back to the apartment without stalling my car. And I just started learning stick last night at midnight, so technically you could say today. I feel excellent, and I want to watch Gone in 60 Seconds, right now.
I've also randomly thought of the "Stick shifts and safety belts, bucket seats have all got to go..." song by Cake all day. Hrmm, wonder why.

Laura's working on ferret-proofing the apartment. I won't mind the ferrets as long as I can't smell them in my room and I don't have to take care of them too much. There are many reasons I like cats: they're clean, quiet (relatively), take care of themselves, and are cuddly when you really need them. I miss Sonic sleeping on my face when I was little, and Scully going boneless between my knees while I laid in bed (much cuter less triple-x than it sounds), and Carson licking me until I grew furr (notice: he still hasn't stopped licking).
Pachelbel's Canon in D is one of the best songs ever written. The body has a natural rhythm that signifies health, and when the body's rhythm becomes unnatural it signifies being in pain (and other things my dad didn't really go into, such as sickness). Pachelbel's Canon in D is the best external version of the body's natural rhythm, and when played through headphones (for example, ear buds) about two inches below the belly button acts as a natural pain reliever by forcing your body's rhythm back to what it should be, sort of cancelling out the signals of pain. You don't even have to be able to hear the song yourself. Having done this multiple times, I can say that Pachelbel works better than Midol and in a fraction of the time (my pain is gone within a very few minutes). It's the most useful song on my iPod. Try it out some time.

Awesome. Law & Order is just awesome. I love how they use actors multiple times. There are people in season one that reappear later and in Criminal Intent. It's great.
I made muffins and an omelet, and all before 7:30 this morning. Part of that may be because I went to bed at around 7:30 last night and woke up at 5 this morning. The muffins are pretty good, though. I <3 Blueberry Muffins.
It rained today, and it's a Saturday, so the contractors painting can't be on our balcony today. That makes me happy. Although once it dries up a bit they'll probably be back. Arr! Dislike of strange people on my balcony! Dislike!
I'm also hoping for some great news around noon today.

So most of the people that have known me for a while know about my whole the Ring, the Grudge, et cetera absolute fear thing. Half the nights I half expect that the next time I open my eyes there'll be something in my room that shouldn't and I'll be literally scared to death. As in dying death, like in *see above movies* 'verse. So I'm lying in bed, finally manage to mostly drift off to sleep, when my eyes open and I see black lace floating out of my closet. Detailed, with patterns increasing towards the edges and rather plain towards the center of what would be fabric lace (and I'm going to die a horrible death). Either that or black smoke that looks like lace (and I'm going to die a horrible death). Or my closet is somehow on fire (and I'll die a slightly less horrible death, with a possibility of survival that could include losing my computers and apartment and running into the street naked). That's my thought process: Grudge, worse, fire. Fire does not come first, like it should. Now I'm gonna play WoW and read about pirates, instead of sleeping, like I wanted.
Of course, it ended up being either shadow from outside or imagined. I dunno which. -.-

So I just bought This book in the last few days from Borders. Happeh! I looked at two Borders before to see if they had one of the books on Vivienne Westwood, and nada, but when I checked the one at Lenox Surprise! there it was. I got a guide to studying for the GRE, too, which is a bit less happy but necessary nonetheless. It makes me want to make even more clothing. Which I'll be doing, as soon as I can afford enough fabric to really play around with. Oh the Fun!
On an entirely different note: When I was in high school I played Everquest, a.k.a. Evercrack, back in the day when it was Neverquest because of lag and server downtime (people on WoW complain so much about the smallest amount of lag, they don't realize how easy they have it. I know, blah blah woof woof). While I played EQ, especially during my time at Qeynos and in the Qeynos aqueducts, I listened to that Limp Bizkit cd on repeat (the one with Nookie), so much so that whenever I hear it now I am instantly transported back in time to sitting at my computer at 3 a.m. hunting slimes in a group in the aqueducts. It's just a funny thought of mine.
I don't think there's any more news.
Oh! I was wrong. There's a DragonCon Staff Meeting of Wonder (tm) this Saturday downtown at either the Mariott or the Hyatt at 4 p.m. I am very excited, especially since I didn't get to go to DragonCon last year. Or any cons. I almost didn't even get to go to RenFest after I got back, but I "convinced" my parents that I could go up to Knoxville early in the week. Anyway, DragonCon Staff Meeting. Awesomeness. That really is it.

So I don't know if I've posted since coming back from Japan. It's been a while, anyway.
It's weird. Being back, I mean. I wasn't ready to leave, and sometimes I get really lonely and really sad because I'm not speaking Japanese every day or eating Japanese food all the time, I can't go to the コンビニ and buy onigiri or (not-so-good but still, there-it-is) katsudon, There's no 地下鉄 to get me wherever I'm going with ease, most of the time it feels like so much is missing. And while I missed my friends (let's face it, raping cutely is just fun, and I can wear my leather collar and leash without funny looks, and Laura and I can joke about living together out of wedlock and freak out fabric-cutters at Joanne's), I still wish I was back there.

On another note, I <3 Vivienne Westwood and I want these shoes (even though they're not really Vivienne Westwood, real ones cost around $600 usually) : http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=150000153761&fromMakeTrack=true

I get to revel with you English-speaking folks in three weeks. Please, someone, come get me at the airport so I don't have to spend the last night I can illegally drink at my aunt's house. Also, I want to go eat at Cracker Barrell (mashedpotatoesgreenbeansfriedokradumplins). And a cold six-pack of IBC Root Beer. And good friend time. I don't want to go back to the states, but I do miss you guys somethin' fierce, and it'll be good to hang out again with people who won't think I'm weird for wearing random leathery chainy goodness and will appreciate my interactive pants ( which I had mom ship here so I could wear them, YYaya). Good Times [06 Apr 2006|06:47pm]
[ mood | tired ]

So today is supposedly peak Cherry Blossom Viewing Day. (W00t, they just started blooming last week and they'll be gone before next is over). I took a couple of videos of the trees, and... swept the scenery a little, if you know what I mean. Actually I had the best sight of the day at school, where I saw one guy sitting on another's lap facing him. 'Twas loverly >^.^< It's nice that the Japanese students are back on campus now, it kind of sucked having so few native speakers on campus. Also so little... scenery. But they're back, so it's all good. Another great sight this week is the football players. And yes, I mean American Football players. But since Japanese guys are so tiny compared to American football players, it looks rather cute and slightly hilarious. Yay, they start classes on the 10th!
I rented Blood+ DVD 04 the other day, when I took Kitchen back. The movie for Kitchen is so weird, and from the midpoint on is completely different from the book. The "mother" doesn't die, and it ends with the two main characters moving in together. Crazyness. I can now officially say the book is better.

Oh, OU peoples (specifically Laura and Sarah), what classes are you guys taking in the Fall? Like Cor? I'm not there to pester people about which of the professors to avoid at all costs, so if anyone has any recommendations as to a pretty easy/interesting-as-it-can-be class, lemme know. おすすめお願いします。 Anyway, time to go down to dinner.

wikiquote of glory

'As you may know, I spent the last three months in Africa. A wondrous, magical place. But as shadows lengthen across the KBHR window, thoughts turn to homecoming. Journey's end. Because in a sense, it's the coming back, the return which gives meaning to the going forth. We really don't know where we've been until we've come back to where we were. Only, where we were may not be as it was because of who we've become. Which is, after all, why we left.'

On an "I'm Awesome" note, I finished reading Yoshimoto Banana's キッチン.
